Staple fiber refers to fiber with limited individual length, normally ranging from several millimeters to tens of millimeters. It must be spun into yarn before weaving. Classified by raw materials, staple fibers fall into natural types such as cotton and wool, and man-made varieties including polyester staple, acrylic staple, viscose staple, etc. By application, they are divided into apparel-grade staple fibers and industrial-grade staple fibers.
CTMTC’s complete staple fiber equipment supports production of polyester, polypropylene, polyamide and recycled staple fibers, compatible with mainstream processes of melt direct spinning and chip spinning. Widely applied in yarn spinning, nonwovens, filling materials and hygiene products, the equipment adopts modular and intelligent design, integrating five core systems: precision melting, uniform spinning, efficient cooling, stable after-treatment and intelligent quality control, realizing full-process automation and digital management of staple fiber production.
I.Complete Production Flow
Staple fiber production starts with polymerization, converting monomers into polymers with long-chain molecular structures. Polymer strands are cut by pelletizers into fiber chips. Under spinning procedures, chips undergo melting, extrusion and cooling to form fiber tows. Subsequent after-treatment including drawing, heat setting and cutting delivers staple fibers with target length and performance.
II.Product Application Fields
Textile Industry:
Widely used for various fabrics in garment manufacturing, such as cotton T-shirts and denim. Also applied to home textiles including bed linens, curtains and sofa covers.
Industrial Sector:
Manufacturing filter fabrics and insulating materials thanks to high strength and durability to meet industrial requirements. It is also adopted for automotive interiors like seats and carpets.
Nonwoven Fabric Production:
• Medical & hygiene: masks, surgical gowns, etc.
• Geotechnical engineering: geotextiles to stabilize soil structure
• Agriculture: mulching films for thermal insulation, moisture retention and pest control
